We just came back from Australia and Singapore where we saw plenty of wildflowers in the outback as well as city sights in Singapore, Perth and Sydney. We're just beginning to sort through and identify the hundreds of new plants we saw.
It was nice to get away from all the medical stuff -- which started up right after we got . . .

After Alaska, we planned to take a few days and go to the eastern side of the Sierra. We can’t backpack or sleep on the ground these days, but we arranged for a few stays in cabins here and there. Unfortunately, things took a turn.
Last Saturday when we left, we were about 4 hours on the road and almost to Sonora Pass. Out of . . .

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been taking a few trips before we both head into tests and procedures in late May, June and beyond. It took a lot of juggling all of our medical appointments and procedures in order to get away. So far, we’ve been up to Arcata for a botanical workshop, seeing plants up along the coast and in the redwoods of . . .

We made it to the desert. Specifically, to Mojave National Preserve. Its’ one of Obama’s last designated national parks and preserves. This place is huge -- 1.6 million acres! There were plenty of flowers and plants to see, and we hiked (or walked) as much as we could each day. It was nice to get away, but medical stuff still managed to . . .
